Biography
Stefano Ferracin is a veteran recording, mixing, and mastering engineer whose career spans more than three decades across studio recording, analog mastering, and modern digital production. With over 34 years of experience behind the console, Ferracin has built a reputation for a meticulous, analog-first approach to sound, focusing on warmth, dynamic range, and sonic clarity throughout the recording and mastering process. Ferracin began his career working in professional recording studios during the early era of hybrid analog-digital production, developing deep expertise in signal chains, analog summing, and traditional mastering techniques. Over the years he has engineered and mastered music across a wide range of genres, consistently emphasizing musicality and balance rather than excessive digital processing. His workflow prioritizes analog hardware, precision gain staging, and detailed monitoring environments to preserve the natural character of recordings. In 2022, Ferracin joined SSO Artists Entertainment as an exclusive in-house mastering engineer. Within the company’s technical team, he plays a key role in finalizing releases for distribution, working closely with producers and artists to ensure that recordings meet modern streaming standards while retaining the depth and fidelity of analog-driven mastering. Part of his work at SSO involves preparing projects for Apple Digital Masters, where Ferracin oversees mastering workflows designed to meet Apple’s high-resolution delivery requirements. Using a hybrid analog chain integrated with digital mastering tools, he helps optimize releases for streaming platforms while maintaining the tonal balance and headroom necessary for high-quality playback across systems. At SSO Artists Entertainment, Ferracin contributes not only technical mastery but also decades of engineering experience, helping guide the label’s releases through the final stages of production with a focus on precision, fidelity, and timeless sound.
