Porta Santa is the sound of Long Island hardcore in its rawest, most urgent form. Drawing inspiration from bands like Pain of Truth and LIE, the group emerged from the island’s underground scene with a clear mission: confront injustice directly and channel the intensity of hardcore into something that speaks to real experiences. The band began as the vision of vocalist Gavin Vulpis, who set out to build a project that reflected the energy, identity, and attitude of the 516 Long Island hardcore community. What started as an idea quickly evolved into a full live band, built around the same uncompromising spirit that defines the region’s DIY scene. Their debut single, “Eye To Eye,” captures that approach immediately. The track delivers aggressive riffs and relentless momentum while addressing the ignorance that fuels racial and familial prejudice. Rather than simply aiming for heaviness, Porta Santa uses hardcore as a vehicle for confrontation, pushing listeners to look directly at the issues the music calls out. On stage, Porta Santa fully embodies the chaos and immediacy of Long Island hardcore. Known for high-energy performances in basements, DIY venues, and hardcore bills across the island, the band brings an intensity that reflects the scene they represent.
